Paul Van Oyen

Paul Van Oyen

CEO and responsible for Etex Industry Division, Africa Region and Communications

Paul Van Oyen has been the CEO of Etex since 1 January 2015, and also acts as the responsible for Etex Industry, the Africa Region and Communications. After several years as a researcher and technologist, he joined Etex in 1990, starting off as a Laboratory and Project Manager in the Redco R&D department. After that, he led the Business Development of our European Building Materials division. In 2004, he became Business Development Manager and successfully completed several acquisitions in Europe. Meanwhile, he also helped shape our business in clay tiles and in 2007 took the role of Managing Director for Eastern Europe. In 2011, Paul became Director of the Fire Protection & Insulation Division, better known under its brand name Promat.

Alex Carnevale

Alex Carnevale

CPO and responsible for EHS, Purchasing and Engineering

"Commit as a team to do great things."

Since January 2016, Alex Carnevale has been Etex’s Chief Performance Officer and in that role he is also responsible for EHS, Purchasing and Engineering. Alex started his professional career as Process/Project Engineer at AlliedSignal in 1988. In the ten years that followed, he held a variety of management roles, culminating in the role of Production Manager in France. Afterwards, Alex went on to become Plant Manager at Honeywell and, three years later, was promoted to General Manager Europe of this automation technology multinational. From 2004 onwards, Alex Carnevale took on several leadership roles at Performance Fibers. Prior to joining Etex, Alex also worked as an independent business consultant on different projects in various industries.

F. Deslypere

Frédéric Deslypere

Head of Latin American Region

“Success depends on three factors: passion for the business, commitment towards common goals, and a strong focus on teamwork.”

For many years, Frédéric Deslypere has watched over Etex’s financial health. Following his experience as an associate for international law firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, he joined Etex as a Legal Advisor in 1991. He built up experience as Group Tax Advisor, as Finance Director for the Central & Eastern Europe division and as Secretary General of Etex. From 2008 to 2013, Frédéric held the function of CFO. End of 2013, he took on the role of Head of Latin American Region, which includes the responsibility for the Ceramics Division.

Mel de Vogue

CFO and responsible for IT and Legal

"Together with my team, I want to help us grow in a profitable way, while creating value for Etex's stakeholders. Kind of like a family man supporting his household."

Mel de Vogue joined Etex as its CFO on 1 May 2015. He is also responsible for IT and since September 2016 for Legal. Prior to Etex, he gained extensive experience at several international industrial groups. Between 2009 and 2015, Mel was the CFO of Belgian chemicals group Tessenderlo for five years. From 2013 onwards, he combined that function with the role of Co-CEO. Between 2004 and 2009, Mel was CFO of Arjowiggins, a specialty papers group headquartered in France. Prior to that, he held various key financial functions at Suez Environnement Group, in several countries around the world.

Michael Fenlon

Michael Fenlon

Head of Etex Cladding Division

"The most important reason to be in business is to make a difference.”

Since 1 March 2016, Michael Fenlon holds a global responsibility for the Etex Cladding division. Michael joined Etex in 1998 as Factory Manager at Tegral Metal Forming in Athy, Ireland, and became its Managing Director in 2002. Between 2010 and 2016, Michael was Managing Director of Etex’s cladding business, PSE façade. Under his leadership both Equitone and Cedral brands developed into leading names in the cladding segment. Michael’s guidance was also essential to the international expansion of our cladding activities from Europe to Asia, Latin America and the United States.

Jean-Pierre Hanin

Jean-Pierre Hanin

Head of Etex Building Performance Division

Since 2016, Jean-Pierre Hanin is Head of Etex Building Performance Division. Prior to that, he was Head of Siniat Division. A role which he combined with that of CFO between September 2014 and May 2015. Before becoming Etex’s CFO in 2013, Jean-Pierre held various executive functions in the Belgian Lhoist Group, one of the world’s leading producers of lime and dolomite. After several years as CFO, he became the company’s CEO in 2011. Prior to Lhoist, Jean-Pierre worked as an attorney in different law firms.

Michel Klein

Head of Roofing Division

Michel is Head of Etex Roofing since August 2016. Before joining Etex, he spent one year as Senior Advisor for building materials and distribution, for a global private equity firm based in London. Between 2009 and 2015, Michel was a member of the Rexel Group Executive Committee, the leading worldwide distributor of electrical supplies, and CEO and Senior VP of Central & Eastern Europe. From 1995 to 2009, he took up various positions at French building materials group Lafarge – fulfilling the roles of Organisation Director, CEO of Lafarge Roofing Components, CEO of Lafarge Roofing France, then Group Vice President and member of the Executive Committee of Monier Group (previously Lafarge Roofing).

M. Macharis

Myriam Macharis

HR Director

"I love developing and implementing new business approaches and creating a sense of dynamics."

Myriam Macharis started her career in the legal world, as a legal advisor, outside Etex at first and for Eternit Belgium from 1983. Having tried her hand at several corporate activities across Etex, such as legal, EHS and public relations, Myriam became HR Director for Eternit Belgium in 2005. In 2011, she took on the role of HR Director at group level.
