Etex Group's social commitment
Health and Safety within the Group companies
Etex Group wants to ensure its activities have no short- or long-term impact on the employees’ health. The basic principle is full compliance with existing local legislation. Etex Group then strives to go further and outperform the minimum standards by implementing measures that must assure healthy and safe working conditions in the factories.
In view of a Zero Accident Policy, clear objectives are set for the Group and its affiliated companies:
- Clear targets in the Frequency Rate and Gravity Rate (see graphs below)
- Standardised reporting on all Health & Safety related issues
- Implementation of the OHSAS 18001 management system
Every year, the outcome of this policy is published in the Group's annual report.
Responsibility towards our people
The Etex Group values its people, both as individuals and as a vital part of a greater whole, working in an environment of trust, team spirit and mutual respect. Equal opportunity, with respect to recruitment, employment, personal and professional development are values the Group wants to see adherence to in all of its affiliated companies.
In its employment practices, Etex Group seeks to apply consistent rules of conduct, which comply with national and international legislation, as well as conventions, and recommendations of the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
Etex Group expects each of its affiliates to regularly and clearly inform its personnel about the state of its business, and the impact thereof on employment and employment conditions. This may be done through a constant and open communication with employee representatives, in keeping with local legislation and/or directly with all employees via internal publications, or employee surveys where appropriate.
Responsibility towards the community
With its focus on local markets, Etex Group stronlgy encourages the good practice for the affiliated companies to be highly involved in the local communities. Employees in the local subsidiary are encouraged to propose initiatives for such community service to local management.
