Delve into our rich history, marked by our pursuit of excellence.
In 1905, Alphonse Emsens embarked on a visionary journey that would shape the construction landscape. Inspired by Austrian industrialist Ludwig Hatscheck, he founded the Eternit fibre cement factory near Brussels. This humble beginning would mark the start of a transformative story.
In 1981 Etex teamed up with the German passive fire protection expert: Promat and ceramic tile innovators Ceramica San Lorenzo in Argentina resulting in a welcome addition to the product segment: ceramic tiles for floors and walls.
In 2011, as the result of a major acquisition, the plasterboard brand Siniat was born, enabling Etex to play a role in the dry construction market.
Etex continues its focus on sustainable solutions with the acquisition of insulation expert URSA, adding a fifth technology to its portfolio to address climate warming and resource scarcity challenges.
