One of my personal highlights at Etex was our Town Hall meeting in February 2020. Our entire company, almost 500 employees, came together for the first time in the company history as a large, united team. One component of the event was a so called “chain reaction XXL” made by all employees. Each unit was responsible for its own construction phase. Nobody could give less than their best, because each individual area had an impact on the other areas. Everything needed to be done well, so the whole chain reaction could be successful.
Things got tricky at the handovers. This is where the individual teams had to communicate with each other and find a suitable solution that was both creative and efficient. The whole thing took 2 hours and you really had to make an effort. But we did it, together: the chain fell off completely and the confetti cannon at the end was detonated. A great shared sense of achievement.
