Our three Etex values guide us in our commitment. We want to connect with and care for our
customers, suppliers, Etex teammates and the world. Our passion for excellence drives
sustainable production processes as well a thorough CSR policy. We are pioneering to
lead through R&D and innovation for sustainable lightweight solutions.

Lightweight building solutions with lighter ecological footprint:

Lightweight building solutions with lighter ecological footprint:

These products are compatible with all insulation solutions. Their production, transportation and application require less water, energy and raw materials. Lightweight is also a great solution to re-use, expand and upgrade existing buildings. Etex plasterboard plants recycle close to 100% of their internal production waste and solely use recycled plasterboard paper. Etex fibre cement is durable and easy to maintain. We work together with cement producers to develop sustainable recycling solutions.

In Chile, E2E built 400 modular, affordable high-quality houses for low-income families. Their water and energy consumption are up to 70% lower than before.

New Ways

New Ways

specialises in modular building technologies. These technologies reduce waste and energy expenditure by 85% over the entire building cycle. Moreover, they respond to the world’s huge housing problems, enabling the rapid construction of  affordable, well-insulated, high-quality and beautiful living spaces.

Sustainability

Sustainability

Sustainability is a key concern for our R&D, and recycling is our number 1 priority. Our R&D Team also tests ways to reuse by-products and production waste from our factories as raw materials or additives at other Etex sites. They study the feasibility of setting up local industrial networks to exchange by-products for reuse and recycling. Etex is also engaged in research programmes that aim to produce ever-lighter lightweight solutions: with more strength per unit, using less raw material and less water and energy.

Further managing our asbestos past

Further managing our asbestos past

Asbestos is part of our past and we continue to manage our history with the material carefully.
We have implemented a group-wide policy to enforce this commitment.

Group-wide policy based on 3 principles

Group-wide policy based on 3 principles

  1. Compensate victims
At Etex, we must ensure that those who become seriously ill due to the use of asbestos in their factories receive fair financial compensation.
  2. Prevent exposure
While finishing site upgrades, we constantly monitor the presence of airborne fibres and meticulously manage the safety of all buildings and landfills.

  3. Support research
We support medical and scientific research into asbestos-related diseases.

Amplifying our efforts

Amplifying our efforts

We substantially increased our annual contribution to the Foundation Against Cancer. Between 2012 and 2024, we plan to donate a total of 10 million euro.

We support local initiatives to deal with asbestos challenges more effectively and to make positive social impacts.
