We want to create long-term value for our customers, employees, shareholders and other stakeholders by addressing their growing needs for sustainable solutions. This can only happen by tackling how Etex operates in the ecological, social and economic fields.
how we got there
A clear path to a sustainable future
All 193 member states of the United Nations adopted a plan to achieve a better future for all by ending extreme poverty, fighting inequality and injustice, and protecting our planet. These Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) encompass 17 objectives for the year 2030.
Through an inclusive exercise involving our Senior Leaders in all divisions and regions, we selected 10 SDGs, in order of priority, as the ones which are most relevant for Etex.

Materiality matrix of Etex
When translating our ambition into impactful initiatives aimed at achieving the SDGs, a collaborative exercise with a wide range of stakeholders provided us with powerful guidance. The aim of this engagement was to identify the list of sustainability topics where Etex has the most impact.
20 topics were shortlisted from an initial 120. In a next step, 650 stakeholders responded to a survey on the importance of these topics. Finally, we clustered the topics under five themes and, to sharpen our focus even further, we mapped them out according to importance to stakeholders and Etex’s impact.

Our ESG risk exposure
Etex monitors its environmental, social and governance (ESG) risk exposure. In 2021, our rating of 18.1 out of 100 indicates that we have a low risk exposure and are ranked favourably amongst our peers.
Our stakeholders clearly welcome greater understanding and transparency regarding our risk exposure score, which is determined each year by independent agency Sustainalytics.
The sustainability activities we have launched in line with our CSR strategy contribute directly to our sustainability risk management.
